Whitney Information Network, Inc. Reports Net Income of $1.9 Million for January 2005 on Record Revenue

CAPE CORAL, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 2005--Whitney Information Network, Inc. (OTCBB:RUSS), a provider of post-secondary career training programs, today reported net income of $1.9 million for the month of January 2005 compared to a loss of $2.7 million in January 2004. Sales revenue for the period was $14.3 million, a 90 percent increase over the January 2004 revenue of $7.5 million.

"We are extremely pleased that the strategies we put into place in the fourth quarter of last year have begun to yield positive results," said Russ Whitney, founder and CEO. "We believe this trend will continue throughout the year. Our performance has also been driven by our focus on core brands and positioning those brands as market leaders. We are also constantly working to improve efficiency in our operations and delivery of training."

The Company's strong performance is attributed to a combination of factors, including:

-- Increased interest by new and returning students for basic and
advanced course offerings in both real estate investing and
        stock trading.

-- A comprehensive corporate reorganization, implementation of
new cost control measures, marketing efficiencies, and
        strategic price increases.

-- The implementation of a strategy to accelerate the delivery of
training programs in order to reduce deferred revenue.

The Company continues to maintain a strong positive cash flow position. The plan to accelerate delivery of training programs implemented in 2004 is already significantly impacting 2005 results. That plan includes a strong focus on alternative methods of delivering training, particularly through on-line and on-demand courses via the internet. The Company has also expanded its course offerings and increased the number of locations and times each course is provided. This has made it easier for students to balance their training schedule with the demands of their lives.

New sales of advanced training courses that outpace the rate at which the courses are offered and delivered to students creates deferred revenues that cannot be recognized in the current period. The expenses related to those sales were posted at the time they were incurred; the revenue is not recognized until the student completes the training.

"Our cash flow from operations has been consistently positive," said Whitney. "We expect the Company will continue to grow, and we have taken steps to accelerate the recognition of deferred revenue which will directly contribute to income recognition in 2005."
